Revitalize and rebuild your skin with the corrective action of retinol.
Used nightly, Retinol System works synergistically for optimal improvement
of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun-damaged skin. Contains one Retinol Serum
and one RxA3 Creme.
Retinol Serum uses proprietary vitamins and
technology to help deliver beautiful, smooth, revitalized skin. Retinol
exfoliates dead and damaged skin, while stimulating production of new
skin. The other component of this system, RxA3 Creme, soothes, moisturizes
and calms even sensitive skin with a combination of three forms of vitamin
A. The RxA3 Creme helps support cell rejuvenation and collagen renewal,
and aids in the visible reduction and prevention of lines, wrinkles, and
age spots.
RESEARCH BRIEF
The skin is considered an organ because its tissues work together to
accomplish specific biological functions. In the average adult, the skin
has a surface area of about 3,000 square inches. The skin not only helps
hold the body together and protect against abrasion, bacteria,
dehydration, and UV radiation, but it also performs several other roles
that are essential to health, including body temperature regulation,
stimuli reception, excretion through perspiration, and vitamin D
synthesis.
The skin is made up of three layers: the epidermis,
dermis, and hypodermis. The epidermis has several layers and four distinct
kinds of cells. New skin cells form in the epidermis' deepest layer and
take about two weeks to move to the skin surface, where they are
eventually exfoliated off. The dermis consists mainly of collagen and
elastin, two fibers that provide the skin's structural framework and allow
the skin to stretch and return to its original shape. Collagen, which
accounts for about a third of the body's total protein, is also found in
bone, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and other body tissues. The
hypodermis, which is composed primarily of adipose tissue and blood
vessels, acts as a cushion for the body's internal structure.
Skin
is constantly aging, but the aging process begins accelerating in a
person's late 40s. The collagen fibers start to decrease, stiffen, break
apart, and lose their collective shape. The elastin fibers lose their
stretchy properties, thicken into clumps, and fray. As a result of these
changes, skin becomes wrinkled and discolored. Sun damage is one of the
main culprits in premature aging of the skin. FAQs
Q. Will Retinol Serum and RxA3 Creme make my skin more sensitive
to the sun? A. Retinoids can sensitize the skin to UV rays, so
you are advised to use sun block during the application period and for at
least three weeks after discontinuing the product.
Q. Can
Retinol Serum be used along with Be Night Recovery Serum or other products
that contain alpha hydroxy acids? A. It is recommended that
alpha hydroxy acid products be avoided while using Retinol Serum. However,
RxA3 Creme can be used along with products that contain alpha hydroxy
acids.
Q. What if I have sensitive skin? A. If
you know you have sensitive skin, apply a small amount of Retinol Serum in
a sensitive area and then wait four hours. If there is no reaction, then
you can proceed to use the product twice a week and slowly increase
frequency. If irritation results, reduce frequency of use. On the other
hand, RxA3 Creme was designed for sensitive skin, so you should not have
to limit its use.
Q. Can Retinol Serum and RxA3 Creme be
used along with Mineral Mask? A. Yes, they can all be used
together.
Q. If I'm using a prescription medication for my
skin, can I use Retinol Serum and RxA3 Creme as well? A. It is
best not to use Retinol Serum in combination with prescription medications
for the skin. After you discontinue use of the prescription medications,
check with your dermatologist to determine how long you should wait before
using Retinol Serum. You should be able to use RxA3 Creme while using skin
medications, but it is best to check with your dermatologist.
